Tim Whiten is a Professor Emeritus at York University and former Chair of the Department of Visual Arts. He is also an internationally renowned artist whose works are in many private, corporate and public collections, including Canada’s National Gallery and the Art Gallery of Ontario. His works have been exhibited in major exhibitions of drawing and sculpture throughout North America and Asia.

Tim began teaching at York University in 1968; served as Director of Co-Curricular Art; Director, MFA Program; was Artist-in-Residence in NY (1977), and in Brazil (2001/02).

Honours: Include profile in Who’s Who in Black Canada 2 (2006); Dean’s Teaching Award, Faculty of Fine Arts (1999-2000); Distinguished Leadership Award, for Extraordinary Service to the Arts, American Biographical Institute (1989).
