Joan Pierre has worked for over 25 years in project management, fundraising, arts and administration. In 2009, she became an Associate Professor at York University. As a Consultant, she has worked with: Mirvish Productions for the Lion King; the annual Caribana parade and festival; municipal election campaigns; University of Toronto Law Faculty; RCMP policing conference; Nathaniel Dett Chorale, and others.
She has helped to design and produce festivals and special events in Canada, the U.S. and the Caribbean, including Rejoicing in the Park (New Orleans), Urban Music Association of Canada, African Canadian Achievement Awards.
Affiliations: Joan has served on many boards, including the National Ballet School; Toronto 1996 Olympic Bid; and Tropicana Community Services.
